Victor M. Font Jr.

Victor M. Font Jr. is an award winning author, entrepreneur and business executive. He has served on the Board of Advisors for the North Carolina Technology Association and is a founding board member of the North Carolina Executive Roundtable (NCER). NCER is a professional association of senior level executives. He has authored over 20 books including The Ultimate Guide to the SDLC and Winning With WordPress Basics. The latter of which was selected as a textbook at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Early Career

Life before IT includes a long stint as a New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic. Victor earned his license in the final pilot program class offered by the New Jersey Department of Health. Classes took place at the University of Medicine and Dentistry. He received MICP license #428. He worked at the Jersey City Medical Center and Clara Maass Medical Center. He responded to over 25,000 emergencies and delivered 16 babies. He taught Emergency Medical Technician, CardioPulmonary Resuscitation, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support training courses. Once he realized the goal of retiring from the Emergency Medical Service wasn’t workable. He taught himself how to program in BASIC on a Timex Sinclair 1000 and never looked back.

His professional computing career began as the owner of Bayonne Computer Center, Inc.. BCC is the first computer retail store in Hudson County, New Jersey. He built IBM PC clones from the ground up in a storage room in the back of the store.

Later, he became a general partner and Chief Information Officer of SGL Data Systems. SGL was a computer consulting and custom software development house located in Greenwich, Connecticut. SGL brought LawCruit® to market. LawCruit assists legal recruiters with communication management for candidate attorneys. His consulting experience is diverse. He engaged with many government, corporate, small business, and academic clients. A representative sample includes:

Corporate Career

Victor moved into corporate management in the Human Resources Information Systems department for Warner-Lambert. Pfizer acquired Warner-Lambert in 2000. He rose to an IT Director position for Pfizer’s Research and Development Division. He served on several enterprise level councils including:

  • Architecture and Engineering Council
  • Identity and Access Management Governance Board
  • Information Security Council
  • IT Process Improvement Council

He also established:

  • Pfizer’s Business Analysis Center of Excellence
  • CARQUEST’s Business Analysis Community of Practice
