Remove URL from WordPress Comment Form

The problem:

I'm getting a lot of spammers who clearly want their comment approved so they get a link to their website/url. How do I remove the website field when folks submit comments?

The Solution:

Add this to your theme's functions.php:

add_filter( 'comment_form_default_fields', 'comment_form_fields' );
function comment_form_fields( $fields ) {

    unset($fields['url']);

    return $fields;
}

add_filter( 'comment_form_default_fields', 'comment_form_fields' );

function comment_form_fields( $fields ) {

unset($fields['url']);

return $fields;

}
